If you're looking to claim CPE (Continuing Professional Education) credits for completing Security Blue Team training, here’s how to get started. While we don’t have a formal CPE credit process, many students have successfully submitted their Security Blue Team certificates to organizations like ISC2, SANS, GIAC, ECCouncil for CPE credit consideration.
Tips to Claim CPE Credits:
-
Complete the Certification Exam
A course completion certificate is issued only after passing the final exam e.g. BTL1. Completing the course content alone may noy qualify for a completion certificate. -
Submit Your Certificate to the Professional Organization
Once you have your passing certificate, register on the CPE submission section of the organization’s website and upload your certificate for review. Provide details about the BTL1 course, such as the course duration, content covered, and the number of hours spent, as CPE credits are typically awarded per hour of training. - Approval is Discretionary: Ultimately, these organization will review your submission and decide on the number of CPE credits to award based on their specific guidelines. Security Blue Team does not directly coordinate with the mentioned names, so the approval and credit amount are entirely at their discretion.
Important Notes:
-
What Counts as a CPE? CPEs are essentially credits for every hour spent studying, learning, developing, or engaging with the cybersecurity industry. This can include training, certifications, webinars, and conferences, as long as you have proof of participation.
- CPE Credit Approval: CPE credits are awarded at the discretion of the receiving organization based on their criteria, so we recommend checking with them directly if you have specific questions.
- Typical Credits: Other students have reported earning up to 40 CPE credits for one of our Security Blue Team certifications. Exact credits may vary depending on the organization’s policies
Example:
Event Name | Event Date | Event Type | Event Credits | Event Status |
---|---|---|---|---|
SECURITY BLUE TEAM - Certified Security Operations Manager (CSOM) Course and Exam | 03/23/2024 | Certification Examination Related to IT Security | 40 | Approved |
Note: As our team further develops formal guidelines for CPE credit submissions, we’ll provide updates on the renewal process for certifications like BTL1/BTL2/CSOM. Until then, use this guide to help you submit your credits, and remember that exact credits awarded may vary by organization.
