Showcasing your achievements and certifications on platforms like LinkedIn and Credly can significantly enhance your professional profile. This guide will help you add digital badges to both platforms, making it easier for potential employers and professional connections to recognize your skills.
Adding Your Certificate to LinkedIn
LinkedIn is a professional networking site where you can display your certifications to professionals to demonstrate your expertise. e.g. Here’s how to add your BTL1 certification badge to LinkedIn using the Credly digital badge:
Steps to Add Your Badge on LinkedIn
- Log in to LinkedIn: Go to LinkedIn's website and log in to your account.
- Access Your Profile: Click your profile icon at the top right corner of the page and select "View profile."
- Scroll to Licenses and Certifications: Navigate to the "Licenses and certifications" section of your profile.
- Edit Certifications: Click the "Edit" icon next to the BTL1 certification entry or click on "Add" to create a new entry if it’s not already listed.
- Add Your Credly Badge Link: Paste the Credly digital badge link into the "Credential URL" field.
Troubleshooting
- Credential URL Not Working: Ensure you copied the correct link from Credly. Verify the URL by pasting it into a web browser to see if it redirects to your badge.
- Certification Not Displaying: LinkedIn may take some time to update. Refresh your profile after a few minutes to see if the certification appears.

✅ What Credly Can Do
Credly can help you:
-
Merge multiple accounts (if you’ve used different emails).
-
Add a secondary email address to unify your badge access.
You can do this by logging into your account and going to Account Settings → Email Addresses.
❌ What Credly Can’t Do
Credly cannot:
-
Reassign a badge to a different email address than the one originally issued
-
Edit the name or email on an existing badge
If your original email is no longer accessible (e.g. a deactivated work address), we’ll need to reissue your badge manually.
